Official: 22-year-old Armenian national team player Lara Kazandjian has signed a contract with French club Lens until June 2025.
Born in Montreal, Lara Kazandjian previously played for Canada’s youth teams. In 2023, she obtained Armenian citizenship and has since made nine appearances for Armenia’s national team, scoring one goal. Before joining Lens, the 152 cm-tall forward played in the U.S. university league.
RC Lens women's team coach Sarah M’Barek commented on the transfer:
«The RC Lens women's team is delighted to welcome Lara to our squad. She is a forward with great movement between the lines, and her profile fits our team's needs. We were looking to strengthen our attack with a left-footed player, and Lara is a perfect fit for this role.
A promising player, Lara studied in the U.S., where she played university soccer, known for its high level of competitiveness. Beyond her footballing skills, I was also drawn to her bright and friendly personality.
I am confident that her fluency in multiple languages, openness, and strong work ethic will help her quickly integrate into the team. Welcome to the 'Red and Gold,' Lara!»
The RC Lens women's team currently leads France's second division after 10 rounds, and the signing of a promising forward is expected to boost the team's attacking potential.
