Takhti Cup 2025 in Freestyle Wrestling: All Tournament Results
Wrestling

On May 9, the second and final day of the international freestyle wrestling tournament — the Takhti Cup 2025 — took place in Isfahan, Iran. Wrestlers from Armenia, Iran, Russia, Afghanistan, India, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Tajikistan participated in the competition.

On the second day, medals were contested in the final five weight categories: 61, 70, 74, 92, and 125 kg.

In the 61 kg category, the competition resembled a mini Armenian championship — five  Armenian wrestlers competed in this weight class. The furthest progress was made by Armenia’s main representative, Manvel Khndzrtsyan: he secured three victories over opponents from Iran and Iraq but lost in the semifinals. In the bronze medal match, Khndzrtsyan defeated Iran’s Erfan Jafariyan with a score of 4:3 and won bronze — the only medal for the Armenian team in the tournament.

As a team, Armenia finished third in the Takhti Cup 2025. Kyrgyzstan took second place, and Iran first.
