WOW FC has officially announced that Cristiano Ronaldo has joined the company as a shareholder. The arrival of one of the world’s most recognizable sports icons marks a major milestone for the organization and, according to WOW FC representatives, may reshape the future of mixed martial arts on a global scale.
Ronaldo noted that his decision to invest in MMA is deeply connected to his personal values:
“MMA represents everything I firmly believe in — discipline, respect, resilience, and the constant pursuit of excellence. WOW FC is creating something powerful and unique, and I’m proud to join this project to help grow the sport and inspire the next generation,” the athlete said.
Since its founding, WOW FC has been rooted in principles that reflect Ronaldo’s career — hard work, dedication, resistance to challenges, and a relentless drive for growth. According to the organization, these values are “an integral part of CR7’s DNA” and form the foundation of its philosophy.
Over the past year, WOW FC has demonstrated rapid expansion: event attendance has increased by more than 400%, each show gathers over 5,000 spectators, and broadcasts are now available in more than 170 countries. The organization is quickly establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing entities in the combat sports industry.
WOW FC leadership believes Ronaldo’s entry will accelerate the league’s global expansion and help elevate MMA as a mainstream cultural movement across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and worldwide — with influence extending far beyond sports into fashion, entertainment, and education.

A New Model of Fan Engagement
Inspired by Ronaldo’s mission to expand fan access and bring audiences closer to their favorite sports, WOW FC is exploring innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening the connection between athletes and supporters. These projects are under evaluation, but their goal is to create a more direct, inclusive, and immersive format of engagement, underscoring WOW’s mission to unite and inspire communities around the world.
WOW FC Executive Chairman Arturo Guillén called Ronaldo’s arrival a historic moment:
“Cristiano is not merely a global superstar. He is a symbol of ambition, resilience, and excellence. His belief in our mission validates everything we’ve built and elevates our future to a new level. Together — with Cristiano, Ilia Topuria, our athletes, partners, and millions of fans — we are ready to redefine the role of MMA in global culture.”
Reigning MMA world champion and WOW FC co-owner Ilia Topuria also emphasized the importance of this move:
“Ronaldo’s involvement is a powerful moment for the entire sport. He embodies the highest level of professionalism and global success. Together, we will take MMA to new heights and inspire people worldwide to believe that anything is possible.”
The Way of Warrior FC (WOW FC) is based in Spain and is considered the country’s largest MMA league.
