Italian club Como have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over the permanent transfer of Argentine midfielder Nico Paz. The news was reported by insider Fabrizio Romano.
According to Romano, the clubs have agreed on a €60 million deal. Paz himself wanted to stay at Como, where he has been getting regular playing time and continuing his development.
Real Madrid previously had the right to activate a buy-back clause for Nico Paz worth €9 million. After that, Como had the option to use a counter-buy clause worth €60 million — and the Italian club has now decided to do exactly that.
At the same time, Real Madrid will retain control over the Argentine’s future, as the new agreement will include another buy-back clause for the Spanish club.
This situation was also important in the context of Eduard Spertsyan’s possible transfer to Como. It had previously been reported that the Italian club’s interest in the Armenian midfielder could depend on Nico Paz’s future. Now, the Argentine is expected to remain with the team.
