China Triumphantly Concludes the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships: All Tournament Results

On May 15, the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships concluded in Jiangshan, China. This tournament was the last to be held under the current weight categories — starting from June 2025, a new weight class system will come into effect: for men — 60, 65, 71, 79, 88, 98, 110, and +110 kg; for women — 48, 53, 58, 63, 69, 77, 86, and +86 kg.
On home soil, the Chinese national team demonstrated total dominance, winning a total of 57 medals, including 35 golds. Among them, 10 were so-called "big" gold medals, awarded for the combined total of both lifts.
North Korea took second place in the overall medal standings with 9 gold medals, while Iran placed third with 5 golds.
In total, athletes from 7 countries became champions. China led the way with 10 champions, followed by North Korea with 4, and one champion each from Uzbekistan, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand.
