Cyprus claimed a comeback victory over Latvia in the third round of the UEFA Nations League. The match ended 2-1.
Latvia took the lead in the 57th minute through Edwards Daskevics. The visitors held onto their advantage until the closing stages, but Cyprus managed to turn the game around.
In the 70th minute, Ioannis Kosti equalized to make it 1-1. The decisive moment came in stoppage time, when Marcus Edwards scored the winning goal in the 94th minute to secure all three points for Cyprus.
The victory was an important result for Cyprus in Group C2, which also includes the national teams of Armenia and Montenegro.
Another match in the same group will take place today, with Montenegro facing Armenia in Podgorica.
