Cyprus draw with Latvia and lose two defenders ahead of Armenia match

Cyprus drew 0–0 away to Latvia in the second round of the UEFA Nations League. Apostolos Mantzios’s side will be without two defenders through suspension when they face Armenia.

Wing-back Nicholas Tsaroulla and centre-back Konstantinos Soteriou were booked in Riga. Both received their second yellow cards of the competition and will miss the match against Armenia on 2 October.

Marcus Edwards played the full match against Latvia. The Cyprus head coach had previously said he planned to use him in only two games during this international window. Edwards has now played against Montenegro and Latvia, but no decision on his involvement against Armenia has been confirmed.

After two rounds, Montenegro lead Group C2 with six points. Armenia have three, while Cyprus and Latvia have one each. Yeghishe Melikyan’s team will visit Cyprus on 2 October.
