Armenia national team midfielder Karlen Hovhannisyan scored his first goal for Akron in the Russian league, helping his side secure a 2-0 victory over Akhmat.
Hovhannisyan started the match on the bench and came on in the 70th minute. Just 17 minutes later, in the 87th minute, the Armenian midfielder found the net to score Akron’s second goal and seal the final result.
Akron had opened the scoring as early as the 5th minute, with Benshimol getting the first goal of the match.
It was Hovhannisyan’s first goal for Akron. The 21-year-old joined the Russian club this summer from Yerevan’s Pyunik and has now made four appearances for his new team.
