Karen Khachanov continues to impress at Wimbledon 2025. In the third round, the Russian tennis player of Armenian descent claimed a hard-fought victory over Portugal’s Nuno Borges — 7:6 (8:6), 4:6, 4:6, 6:3, 7:6 (10:8) — marking his second consecutive five-set match in London.
The battle lasted 3 hours and 51 minutes and proved to be a true test of resilience. In the fifth set, Khachanov was down 2:5 but pulled off a stunning comeback to win the super tie-break 10:8. During the match, Karen fired 11 aces, won 73% of points on his first serve and 67% on his second, and converted 4 of 12 break points.
In the Round of 16, Khachanov will face Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak (ATP No. 109), one of the tournament's surprise performers. The two have met three times before, with Khachanov winning all of their encounters, including their latest clash in 2022.
