Armenian tennis player representing Russia, Karen Khachanov, made a successful start at the Madrid Masters tournament.
The world No. 25 began his campaign from the second round, where he defeated American player Reilly Opelka in a tough match, winning 7-6, 7-6. The match lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes.
In the third round, Khachanov will face Tommy Paul, who previously defeated Joao Fonseca.
The Mutua Madrid Open began on April 24 and will conclude on May 4. The tournament's prize fund is €8,055,385.
