Karapet Karapetyan won small gold at the Youth European Championships (U17) in weightlifting

Armenian weightlifter Karapet Karapetyan (79 kg) won a small gold medal in the clean and jerk at the Youth European Weightlifting Championships (U17), which are taking place in Madrid, the capital of Spain.

Karapetyan achieved the best result in the clean and jerk — 161 kg, but finished only 4th in the total with 286 kg (125+161).
