A new martial arts academy, Lionheart, is preparing to open in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. According to the club’s head coach Armen Gulyan, the gym will start operating in September 2025.
The academy will not just be a training venue, but a full-fledged center for preparing athletes of international level. All classes will be free of charge, and promising fighters will be offered grants and support.
“We will gather the best athletes, training will be free. In five years, Armenia will become a martial arts hub not only in the region but also worldwide,” said Armen Gulyan.
Recently, the club’s fighter Eduard Vartanyan visited the construction site and shared a video, noting that the works are nearing completion and the gym will open on time.
The academy will host leading Armenian fighters and coaches, many of whom plan to return from Moscow to Yerevan to help develop the industry in their homeland. Immediately after the opening, large-scale training camps with professionals are planned, marking the first step in turning Armenia into a new global MMA hub.
