Andranik Aroyan Tournament Results: Armenia and Iran Claim Four Gold Medals Each

The 2026 Andranik Haroyan International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament was held in Yerevan on August 25–26. The competition took place at the Dynamo Sports Complex and brought together around 130 athletes from Armenia, Iran, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine.
Champions were crowned in ten weight categories. Wrestlers from Armenia and Iran won four gold medals each, while athletes from Kazakhstan and Moldova claimed one gold medal apiece.

- 79 kg — Yerkhan Abil (Kazakhstan)
- 86 kg — Moslemijouayabri Amirali (Iran)
- 92 kg — Ali Pour Amir Reza (Iran)
- 97 kg — Radu Lefter (Moldova)
- 125 kg — Amavar Morteza (Iran)
For Armenian wrestlers, the Andranik Haroyan Tournament was one of the key selection events for the U23 World Championships, which will be held in Las Vegas from October 12 to 18.
In addition, members of Armenia’s senior national freestyle wrestling team competed in several weight categories.
The hosts won four weight categories — 57, 61, 65, and 70 kg. Iranian wrestlers also secured four gold medals, winning the 74, 86, 92, and 125 kg divisions.
