Armenia futsal national team forward Denis Nevedrov has avoided suspension at the European Championship — UEFA’s disciplinary body has overturned its initial decision to ban the player for one match.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Association of Football submitted a complaint to UEFA, alleging that Nevedrov shouted an insult at the opposing team after the final whistle of the Armenia–Ukraine (2-1) match. Based on this accusation, UEFA initially decided to suspend him.
The Football Federation of Armenia quickly appealed the decision, submitting video evidence clearly showing that Nevedrov did not say the alleged words. UEFA reviewed the case and lifted the suspension.
However, the player received a one-year conditional suspension. If he commits another disciplinary violation during this period, he will automatically be banned for two matches.
Thus, Denis Nevedrov will be available to play in today’s second-round match against the Czech Republic.
The FFA has already stated that it considers the Ukrainian claims to be unfounded and promised to present its position in more detail later.
The match against the Czech Republic will take place today, January 25.
