Georgia wins 2025 Judo World Mixed Team Championships, Russia finishes without a medal

On June 20, the 2025 Judo World Mixed Team Championships took place in Budapest, Hungary.
The Georgian national team, who had won the European title two months ago, now added the world championship to their name. In the final, Georgia confidently defeated South Korea 4:1.
Team members:
Men – Mikheil Bakhbakhashvili (73 kg), Lasha Bekauri (90 kg), Luka Maisuradze (90 kg), Guram Tushishvili (+90 kg), Saba Inaneishvili (+90 kg).
Women – Eteri Liparteliani (57 kg), Nino Loladze (57 kg), Eter Akilashvili (70 kg), Mariam Chanturia (70 kg), Sofio Somkhishvili (+70 kg).
Despite winning only one gold medal in the individual tournament, Georgia triumphed in the team competition. Eteri Liparteliani was the only individual gold medalist for Georgia.

Team Russia was eliminated in the Round of 16, losing 3:4 to France. In the next round, France lost to South Korea.
