Armenian national team striker Grant-Leon Ranos has joined Eintracht Braunschweig on loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach until the end of the current season. The German club confirmed the move officially.
According to the announcement, there is no purchase option yet, but if the 22-year-old forward performs well, the loan could turn into a permanent transfer.
Comments from both sides
Eintracht’s sporting director Benjamin Kessel said:
“Grant-Leon is a very talented striker who has already gained Bundesliga experience this season. He is intelligent, technically sound, and quick-witted — capable of playing as a number 10 or as a central forward. His arrival boosts our versatility and strengthens our attacking options.”
Ranos himself commented:
“I’m excited to begin working with Eintracht Braunschweig and help the club achieve its goals. I want to use my strengths and continue developing. The club’s leadership and coach quickly convinced me this was the right move. I can’t wait to get started.”
Stats and Context
This marks Ranos’s second stint in the 2. Bundesliga. Last season he played for Kaiserslautern but made only 5 appearances without scoring. This season, however, he’s shown promise for Borussia:
-
8 Bundesliga matches, 1 goal
-
2 goals and 4 assists in 4 youth team games
-
For Armenia: 23 caps, 5 goals, 2 assists
Notably, another Armenian national team player changed clubs today: defender Styop Mkrtchyan officially joined Nürnberg.
