The head coach of the Armenian national basketball team, Bogdan Karacic, commented on the team’s first game in the EuroBasket-2029 pre-qualifiers (Bulgaria — Armenia, 98:88), which took place on November 27 in Botevgrad.
“I think we fought hard and gave everything we had. The beginning of the game was unsuccessful for us, but that’s understandable — it was our first match with the renewed roster. There were many young players who were playing together for the first time.
At the end of the second quarter, we also made several mistakes, and the gap grew to 10 points. Bulgaria managed to maintain this advantage until the end of the game.
But I want to note that the guys really fought and played with great commitment. I hope we can take all the positive moments from this game, become even stronger, and defeat our next opponent — the Norwegian national team — at home.
We had a debutant (Krisdain Vital), who needed some time to adapt. Also, there were many young players. In any case, it is good that the team has both good basketball players and good people. I hope we continue working together, improving our team chemistry, and that this will help us win the upcoming matches,” said Bogdan Karacic.
The Armenia vs. Norway match will take place on November 30 in Yerevan.
