Former Kazakhstan national team midfielder Gevorg Nadzharyan has announced his decision to retire from professional football at the age of 27.
Nadzharyan’s last club was Kazakhstan’s Atyrau, which he left at the end of 2024. Over the past year, the player had been recovering from a serious injury, but was unable to return to his previous level, leading him to decide to end his career.
“Maybe I’ll return to football as a sponsor. Life forced me to end my playing career,” Nadzharyan said.
The midfielder played for Kazakhstan’s youth national team and made one appearance for the senior team. Between 2021 and 2023, he represented Armenian clubs Pyunik and Van and was considered a candidate for the Armenian national team.
Nadzharyan is a product of Karagandy’s Shakhter academy. Over his career, he also played for Astana, Atyrau, as well as Armenian clubs Pyunik and Van. In the Kazakhstan Premier League, he made 132 appearances, scored 4 goals and provided 5 assists.
