The 2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, currently taking place in Leipzig, Germany, continue to thrill fans with exciting events. On May 28, a historic final was held in a brand-new discipline — mixed teams — where medals were awarded for the first time in the tournament’s history.
Each country was represented by its top male and female gymnast from the individual qualifications. Team Germany, composed of Timo Eder and Karina Schönmaier, won gold in a tense competition, narrowly beating the British duo Jake Jarman and Ruby Evans by just 0.1 points. The bronze went to Italy’s Lorenzo Casali and Manila Esposito.
Thus, Germany etched its name in history as the first European champion in the mixed team event.
