The Armenian national team delivered a strong performance in the qualification round of the 2025 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, currently being held in Leipzig, Germany. Five Armenian gymnasts have qualified for the finals on individual apparatus.
Qualification results of the Armenian gymnasts:
Hamlet Manukyan achieved the top score on pommel horse — 14.566 points — and placed first in the qualification.
Mamikon Khachatryan also advanced to the pommel horse final, ranking third with a score of 14.400.
On rings, two Armenian representatives made it to the final: Artur Avetisyan finished fifth (14.300), and Vahagn Davtyan placed eighth (13.866).
Olympic silver medalist Artur Davtyan came in second in the vault with a score of 14.516, just behind Britain’s Jake Jarman.
The pommel horse and rings finals will take place on May 30, while the vault competition will be held on May 31.
Unfortunately, Armenian athletes did not participate in the team or all-around events. Gagik Khachikyan failed to reach the final, finishing 43rd on the pommel horse and 27th in the vault.
Nevertheless, having five finalists across three apparatus is a significant achievement for Armenian gymnastics and a promising sign for medal contention in the finals.
