35-year-old Armenian fighter and league veteran German Barseghyan (9-5-1) earned a split-decision victory over Akhmad Asvadov (11-7) at ACA 193, held in Grozny.
From the opening moments, Barseghyan looked more confident — he dropped his opponent in the first round and clearly won it 10-8. In the following rounds, Asvadov focused on wrestling, but the Armenian defended well against takedowns and avoided dangerous positions. On the feet, Barseghyan’s advantage was evident, which was reflected in the judges’ scorecards.
For German Barseghyan, this fight was special — he has been competing in the ACA league (formerly ACB) since its very first event in 2011. Fourteen years later, he remains competitive, proving that experience and resilience can stand up to youth and physical strength.
