Armenia’s Public Television channel H1 has announced a major interview with former Armenia national team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The program will air on October 9.
Judging by the published teaser, one of Armenia’s most prominent footballers will speak in detail about his career journey, his first steps in football, and how and why he decided to become a professional footballer.
A separate part of the interview will be dedicated to Mkhitaryan’s family and his father, former footballer Hamlet Mkhitaryan, who played an important role in the life and career of the future Armenia captain.
The program is also expected to feature an interview with Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu, under whom Mkhitaryan continues to play at club level.
However, one of the main topics will be Henrikh’s decision to retire from the Armenia national team. The teaser specifically includes a question about his final match for Armenia, suggesting that Mkhitaryan will explain in detail why he decided to end his international career.
Mkhitaryan announced his retirement from international football in 2022. He had represented Armenia since 2007 and spent many years as the national team’s captain and one of its key players.
The full interview with Henrikh Mkhitaryan will air on Armenia’s First Channel on October 9.
