Henrikh Mkhitaryan thanks Canal Plus for touching video about his father

Inter and Armenia national team midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has expressed his gratitude to French TV channel Canal Plus for an emotional feature dedicated to his family and the memory of his father, Hamlet Mkhitaryan.

“Merci Canal Plus for this wonderful report about my story,” Mkhitaryan wrote on social media, thanking the creators for a “beautiful feature about his story.”

The video was released ahead of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League Final, in which Mkhitaryan's Inter will face Paris Saint-Germain. The feature includes reflections from French club coaches and presidents who remember Henrikh’s father, while a family friend shows the house where the Mkhitaryan family lived in France.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Hamlet Mkhitaryan continued his career in France, playing in the second division for Valence and Ararat Issy. It was there that Henrikh spent part of his childhood, soaking in the atmosphere of French football and culture.
