Gaspar Terteryan – U20 World Champion in Greco-Roman Wrestling

The final of the 2025 U20 World Wrestling Championships in Greco-Roman style concluded in Samokov, Bulgaria, where Armenian wrestler Gaspar Terteryan triumphed in the 72 kg weight category. In the decisive match, he defeated Uzbekistan’s Ahmad Kodirov with a score of 1:1, winning by the advantage of scoring the first point.
This is Terteryan’s second World Championship medal: in 2023, he claimed silver at the U20 Worlds, and in 2025 he managed to reach the top of the podium. Earlier this season, he also earned a silver medal at the U20 European Championships.

Thus, Armenia’s national team now has two medals – one gold and one silver. Tomorrow, in the 63 kg final, another Armenian wrestler, Alex Margaryan, will compete for the championship title.
