Garegin Mashumyan on the win over Moldova at the Unibank Cup

Armenia national futsal team player Garegin Mashumyan commented on the victory over Moldova in the opening match of the friendly Unibank Cup tournament, which is being held in Yerevan.

The Armenia national team won the match 2–1. The tournament also features the national teams of Georgia and Kyrgyzstan. As part of this competition, Armenia and Georgia are preparing for EURO 2026.

Garegin Mashumyan’s comments after the match:

“I think the game was evenly matched; Moldova are a very good team. We prepared well, and the training camp is being held at a high level. I’m happy to have contributed again for the national team (the goal was recorded as an own goal). I believe everything will be fine for us — we will improve from match to match. It’s very important that we are playing against three strong national teams. This will allow us to analyze our mistakes and avoid them at the European Championship. The coaching staff has done an excellent job and created a good schedule so that we could play these three matches.”

The Armenia national team will play its next match on December 22 against the Kyrgyzstan national team.
