Pyunik Player Called Up to Lithuanian National Team

Yerevan Pyunik’s midfielder Matas Vareika has been called up to the Lithuanian national team. The 24-year-old footballer will take part in his country’s upcoming matches — a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Malta on June 7, and a friendly against Denmark on June 10.
Since January, Vareika has been in excellent form in the Armenian Premier League, scoring 8 goals and providing 1 assist in just half a season.
Matas joined Pyunik from the Lithuanian club Hegelmann and has become a true revelation of the second half of the season.
