FC Shirak demands release of fans

A scandal is unfolding in Armenian football regarding the arrest of fans after Premier League matches. Nine people were detained by the police following yesterday’s protests triggered by dissatisfaction with the current leadership of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).
Nine fans were arrested during the match between "Pyunik" and "Ararat-Armenia."
The Gyumri-based football club "Shirak" issued a strong statement condemning the actions of law enforcement and expressing full support for its fans.
Statement by "Shirak" FC
"We demand the immediate release of the fans who are currently in custody only because they are rightfully demanding the resignation of the current FFA leadership, which has turned football into a disaster.
Football belongs to the fans; we play for them. If the current FFA leadership believes that by involving law enforcement, they can silence them and continue their destructive actions, they are gravely mistaken.
Shirak FC will not allow this, and we are even ready to refuse to take the field or walk off if even a single fan is deprived of their right to speak or is unjustly arrested.
Armenian football fan, Shirak FC stands with you! Your fight is just, and resignation is inevitable!"
