FIFA updates national team rankings for the first time in 2026, Armenia improves its position

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has published the first update of the national team rankings in 2026. The updated list was released on January 19 following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Armenian national team did not play any matches but still managed to slightly improve its position: compared to the previous ranking, the team moved up one place and now occupies 105th position in the world.

Spain remains the leader of the global rankings. The top ten also includes Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium, and Germany.

It is worth noting that Croatia dropped to 11th place, losing its position to Senegal. The Africa Cup of Nations champion climbed straight to 12th place in the FIFA rankings.
