FIFA updates national team rankings: Armenia drops two spots

On October 17, FIFA published its updated national team rankings. The Armenian national team lost two positions and now ranks 104th with 1204.7 points.
During the October window of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Armenia played two matches — losing to Hungary (0:2) and Ireland (0:1).
Spain became the new leader of the ranking, overtaking Argentina. The top five also include France, England, and Portugal.

Among all teams, the Faroe Islands showed the biggest progress, gaining +37.95 ranking points and climbing to 127th place. The island team (population about 55,000) achieved sensational victories against Montenegro (4:0) and the Czech Republic (2:1).
The biggest drop was recorded by Greece, which fell eight places to 48th after losing to Denmark and Scotland, both with the same score of 1:3.
