From May 25 to June 8, 2025, the second Grand Slam tournament of the year — Roland Garros — will take place in Paris. The organizers have published the official entry list, which includes several players of Armenian descent, including Elina Avanesyan and Karen Khachanov.
Elina Avanesyan (WTA 36), one of the most promising tennis players, will once again fight for top results on the Parisian clay. Roland Garros is traditionally considered her most successful Grand Slam tournament: she has reached the Round of 16 twice on the Paris courts. At other Grand Slam events, Elina has not yet advanced past the Round of 64, which highlights her confidence and performance on clay.
Karen Khachanov (ATP 27) will also take part in the tournament. He is currently preparing for the Paris event by competing in Barcelona, sharpening his form and clay court game. Khachanov has extensive experience on the biggest tennis stages and is capable of contending for high positions.
