Tomorrow, June 14, at UFC Fight Night: Usman vs Buckley in Atlanta, an exciting middleweight clash will take place as Edmen "Golden Boy" Shahbazyan (14-5) faces Andre Petroski (13-3). It will be Shahbazyan’s 14th UFC bout and his second fight in 2025 — and he’s still only 27 years old.
The fight promises a classic clash of styles: Shahbazyan is a dynamic striker, while Petroski relies heavily on his wrestling. Both fighters have something to prove.
“I feel like a UFC veteran now,” Shahbazyan told UFC.com. “It’s a blessing to have most of my fights in the UFC and gain this level of experience at my age. I’m only getting better and feel very seasoned. That’s for sure.”
“He doesn’t know my full game. He may even be underestimating parts of my style. I plan to dominate.”
Petroski, 34, enters the bout on a three-fight win streak and claims to be in the best shape of his career. Meanwhile, Shahbazyan has gone 3–3 in his last six fights. This is his chance to start a new winning streak and move closer to the UFC middleweight top 15.
Both fighters successfully made weight and had their faceoff ahead of the bout.
In his last fight, Shahbazyan knocked out Dylan Budka in the first round.
