Edmen Shahbazyan and Brendan Allen successfully make weight ahead of UFC Vegas 118

Armenian UFC fighter Edmen Shahbazyan has successfully passed the official weigh-in ahead of UFC Fight Night: Muhammad vs Bonfim, which will take place on June 6 at UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Shahbazyan weighed in at 186 pounds and made the middleweight limit. His opponent, No. 4-ranked UFC middleweight contender Brendan Allen, also successfully made weight, coming in at 185.5 pounds.

After the weigh-in, the fighters faced off for the final staredown. For Shahbazyan, the upcoming bout is one of the most important of his career: the Armenian fighter will have a chance to defeat a top-five contender in the division and significantly improve his position in the UFC middleweight rankings.

The 26-year-old Edmen Shahbazyan holds a professional record of 16 wins and 5 losses. Brendan Allen enters the fight with a 26-7 record and the status of one of the strongest fighters in the division.

UFC Fight Night: Muhammad vs Bonfim will be headlined by a welterweight bout between former UFC champion Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim. Muhammad weighed in at 170.5 pounds, while Bonfim also came in at 170.5 pounds.

The Allen vs Shahbazyan fight will take place on the main card. The main event is scheduled for five rounds, while all other bouts are scheduled for three rounds.
