Edik Martirosyan wins bronze at Youth MMA World Championships

Armenian athlete Edik Martirosyan has won a bronze medal at the 2026 IMMAF World Championships in mixed martial arts, currently taking place in Abu Dhabi.
Martirosyan competed in the under 83.9 kg weight category in the senior youth age group for athletes under 17. On his way to the medal, the Armenian national team representative claimed three victories, defeating opponents from Russia, South Africa and Slovakia.
In the semifinal, the Armenian athlete faced Russia’s Akhmed Magomedov and lost to the eventual world champion, finishing the tournament with a bronze medal.
This is already the third medal for Team Armenia at the 2026 IMMAF World Championships. Armenian athletes had previously won one gold and one bronze medal.
