Armenia national team winger and Russian club Akron player Edgar Sevikyan will be unable to help the team in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Hungary and Ireland.
The footballer sustained an injury and has already left the national team’s camp. Before joining the squad, Sevikyan was in good form — he recently scored his first goal for Akron and was showing confident performances. However, a minor injury prevented him from continuing the training process.
Despite strong competition on the flanks — with Barseghyan, Bichakhchyan, and Serobyan in the lineup — Sevikyan has always been a valuable substitute who could strengthen the team’s play. His absence will be a significant loss for Armenia in the decisive qualifying matches.
