Armenian forward Edgar Navassardian has joined Swedish third-division side FC Rosengård on loan. The agreement runs until the end of the current season.
Earlier, the 21-year-old played for Östersund in Sweden’s second division but was given limited game time, making just three appearances.
Östersund’s sporting director Stefan Lundin emphasized that the loan move will provide Navassardian with the necessary playing practice:
— Right now, we have strong competition for the striker position. Edgar is a player we believe in for the future, and it’s important for him to get regular playing time to continue his development. We will closely monitor his progress during the loan spell.
Navassardian has already impressed at Rosengård. In his second match for the new club, held on August 16 against Skövde, he scored a brace and helped his team secure a 3–2 victory.
It should be noted that Navassardian has previously been called up to the Armenian U21 national team but could not play due to injury.
