Armenian forward Edgar Navassardian became one of the main heroes of the 7th round match in Sweden’s Superettan. The 21-year-old came off the bench and helped Ostersund claim an important 4-2 victory over Brage.
Navassardian entered the pitch in the 75th minute with the score tied at 2-2. At that moment, the match looked as if it could end in a draw, but the Armenian forward made the difference in the closing stages.
In the 84th minute, Edgar put Ostersund ahead, and in stoppage time, in the 90+5th minute, he completed his brace and sealed the win for his team.
These were Navassardian’s first goals of the current Superettan season. His successful substitute appearance could become an important moment for the forward in his fight for more playing time and a stronger role in the squad.
After this victory, Ostersund moved to 11 points and currently sit 5th in the league table. The team remains in the race for the top positions and promotion to Sweden’s top division.
It should also be noted that another Armenian forward, Albert Aleksanyan, also plays in Superettan. He represents Norrkoping, who are 8th after seven rounds. Aleksanyan has scored 1 goal in 7 matches this season.
