Edgar Fitlijyan promoted to Xerez first team

19-year-old Armenian goalkeeper Edgar Fitlijyan has been promoted to the first-team squad of Spanish club Xerez Club Deportivo, which competes in Segunda Federación – Group 4, the fourth tier of Spanish football.
Ahead of the start of the new season, Xerez officially presented its first-team squad. The Armenian goalkeeper was among the players introduced.
Fitlijyan joined the Spanish club in 2024 from Yerevan-based Ararat. In Armenia, the goalkeeper played for the capital club’s reserve team in the First League.
After moving to Spain, Fitlijyan played for Xerez’s youth team and has now been promoted to the senior squad.
At international level, the goalkeeper also has experience representing Armenia’s youth national teams. He has made two appearances for Armenia at youth level.
