Alashkert winger Domi Jaurès Massoumou has received a late call-up to the Congo national team for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
The 23-year-old is returning to the national team after a lengthy absence. Massoumou was last called up by Congo three years ago and has made three international appearances.
The forward has been in impressive form in the Armenian Premier League this season. Playing for Alashkert, he has scored six goals and provided one assist.
As a result, five players representing Armenian league clubs could feature in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers:
- Mozambique: Bruno Wilson (Ararat-Armenia), Viti (Pyunik);
- Sierra Leone: Ibrahim Cissé (Alashkert);
- Congo: Domi Jaurès Massoumou (Alashkert);
- Comoros: Adel Anzimati-Aboudou (Ararat).
The Chad national team, represented by Gandzasar forward Bertrand Mani, failed to progress beyond the preliminary qualifying round and will not continue its bid to reach the Africa Cup of Nations.
