Dmitry Gunko, head coach of Yerevan's Urartu FC, is leaving the club after three seasons. According to insider Suren Meliketyan via the Telegram channel MS_FootballPlus, the Russian specialist will continue his career in Russia's First League. Later, journalist Sergey Ilyev confirmed the news on his own channel, adding that Gunko will become the new head coach of Arsenal Tula.
Under Gunko’s leadership, Urartu had a successful period, highlighted by a golden double in the 2022/23 season. Prior to joining Urartu, he coached FC Noah and Ararat-Armenia, establishing himself as one of the most successful foreign managers in recent Armenian football history.
In the recently concluded Armenian Premier League season, Urartu finished third and qualified for the UEFA Conference League, where they will face Belarusian side Neman in the first round.
