David Kirakosyan, a graduate of Russian clubs Sochi and Zenit, has signed a contract with Yerevan-based Alashkert, who are competing for the Armenian Premier League title and European qualification spots this season.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder spent the first part of the season at Van Charentsavan, where he scored one goal and provided one assist in 11 appearances.

This season, Kirakosyan also received his first call-up to the Armenia U21 national team and played in two matches against Montenegro and Sweden.

Kirakosyan became Alashkert’s fifth signing of the winter transfer window. Earlier, goalkeeper Vlad Chatunts, defender Jefferson Granado, midfielder Rafael Jesus, and winger Joseph Sabobo joined the club. Notably, all new signings are under 23 years old.
