BKMA and Armenia national team attacking midfielder Davit Hakobyan is close to transferring to Slovak club Železiarne Podbrezová, according to insider Suren Meliksetyan.

He reports that the 19-year-old footballer will soon sign a contract with the team, which finished 6th in the Slovak league last season.

Hakobyan stood out as one of BKMA’s leaders during the 2024/25 season, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists. This summer, he was also called up to the Armenian senior national team but didn’t make an appearance. However, he played for the Armenia U21 team and scored against Cyprus U21.

Notably, his cousin, midfielder Misak Hakobyan, also left BKMA recently, moving to Albanian club Egnatia.

According to Meliksetyan, several other BKMA players have also attracted interest from European clubs.
