World U17 Wrestling Champion, Day 2 Results

On July 29, in Athens, Greece, the second day of the U17 World Championships in Greco-Roman wrestling took place. On the second day, the champions and medalists in five weight categories were determined: 48, 55, 65, 80, and 110 kg. In the remaining weight categories, the finalists for July 30 were decided.

Representing the Armenian national team, Janes Nazaryan — the European silver medalist in this age group — competed in the final of the 65 kg weight class. In the final, he faced Georgian wrestler Erekle Tavberidze, a repeat of the European Championship final.

Janes Nazaryan took revenge with a 5-4 victory and became the world champion.

Also, Uzbekistan won two gold medals, while Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and India each secured one gold medal.
