European Champion Hamlet Manukyan: "My goal is Olympic gold"

Armenian gymnast Hamlet Manukyan won the gold medal in the pommel horse event at the senior European Artistic Gymnastics Championships. For the 17-year-old athlete, this tournament marked his debut at the senior level.

Manukyan delivered a confident performance, surpassing all his rivals. The silver medal in the same event went to his compatriot — 18-year-old Mamikon Khachatryan — securing a double success for the Armenian team.

After the award ceremony, Hamlet shared his emotions:

"I am very happy and proud that the national anthem was played in my honor. My goal is to become a world champion and Olympic champion.
It was very difficult to win here. We did a lot of hard work before the tournament. I want to thank all my coaches and friends. I'm happy that I was able to win gold at my very first European Championships."
