London's Chelsea have won the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy for the 2024/25 season, claiming a spectacular comeback victory over Spain's Real Betis with a 4-1 scoreline. The final had a dramatic storyline: after the first half, the Seville-based club led 1-0 and dominated the game, but everything changed after the break.
In the second half, Chelsea transformed and delivered a goal-filled performance. Enzo Fernández, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moisés Caicedo all found the net. Betis’s only goal was scored by Moroccan winger Ez Abde.
Interestingly, both teams were managed by coaches well acquainted with each other. Chelsea’s head coach Enzo Maresca previously worked as an assistant to Manuel Pellegrini — now the head coach of Betis — during their time together at West Ham in 2018.
This is Chelsea’s first ever Conference League title and their first European triumph since 2021, when the Blues won the Champions League.
It’s worth noting that in the main stage of the Conference League, Chelsea faced Armenian club Noah and secured an 8-0 victory.
