European U20 Freestyle Wrestling Championships 2026: Full Results of the First Finals

The first medal bouts of the 2026 European U20 Freestyle Wrestling Championships took place in Skopje on July 11. Medals were awarded in five weight categories: 57 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 79 kg and 97 kg. The finalists in five additional weight classes were also determined, with the decisive bouts scheduled for July 12.

Russian wrestlers won two gold medals in the first set of finals. Azerbaijan, Moldova and Georgia each crowned one European champion.

Team Armenia finished the first day of finals with three medals. Aren Hayrapetyan claimed silver in the 65 kg category, while Sasha Petrosyan and Narek Nikoghosyan won bronze medals at 57 kg and 79 kg, respectively.

After the first five finals, Armenia is fourth in the team standings with 60 points. Russia leads the standings with 84 points.

Magomed Alibakharchiev won the gold medal. In the final, the Russian wrestler defeated Ukraine’s Bohdan Oleksiienko 3:2.
