Former Noah player Logan Rogerson called up to New Zealand squad for World Cup

Former Noah player Logan Rogerson has been called up to the New Zealand national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Auckland FC forward will replace injured Peterborough United midfielder Matthew Garbett, who picked up an injury during training.

For the 28-year-old Rogerson, this is an important moment in his career. Auckland FC noted that making the national team squad had been one of his main goals since joining the club. He has now become the sixth Auckland FC player included in New Zealand’s World Cup squad.

Armenian football fans know Logan Rogerson well from his time at Noah. He played for the Yerevan-based club during the 2023/24 season before returning to New Zealand and continuing his career with Auckland FC.

The player himself admitted that he has mixed feelings because of Garbett’s injury, calling him a good friend. At the same time, Rogerson said he is excited about the opportunity to join the national team at the World Cup.

New Zealand have already played their opening match of the tournament, drawing 2-2 with Iran. Rogerson was not included in the squad for that game, as he is expected to join the team in the coming days. The former Noah player could be available for the second group-stage match against Egypt.

Group G also includes Belgium and Egypt, who also played out a draw in the first round — 1-1.
