More than AMD 25 million to be allocated for Stepan Sargsyan Memorial in Yerevan

The Armenian government will allocate more than AMD 25 million to the Wrestling Federation of Armenia for the organization and staging of the 26th Stepan Sargsyan International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament in 2026. The competition will take place in Yerevan from September 10 to 13.
The tournament is dedicated to Stepan Sargsyan, an Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Olympic silver medalist and European champion.
The tournament will feature a cash prize fund. Winners in each weight category will receive $2,000, silver medalists will earn $1,000, and bronze medalists will receive $500.
A total of 181 athletes from 15 countries are expected to take part in the competition.
Earlier, the USA team roster for the tournament in Yerevan was announced.
The Stepan Sargsyan Memorial is the only wrestling tournament in Armenia included in the official United World Wrestling (UWW) calendar.
