Some of the leading wrestlers chose the U23 World Championships
In 2026, the senior World Championships and the U23 World Championships will be held just one week apart. Because of the congested calendar, several athletes had to choose only one of the two tournaments.
Reigning U23 European champion and Benur Pashayan Memorial finalist Aramayis Harutyunyan will compete only at the U23 World Championships.
Reigning Armenian champions and European Championship medalists Gaspar Terteryan and Manvel Khachatryan will also compete at the U23 World Championships.
Meanwhile, Suren Aghajanyan chose the senior World Championships and will represent Armenia in the 60 kg weight category.
