Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to host the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup
The FIFA Council has officially approved Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as the joint hosts of the FIFA U 20 World Cup 2027™. This historic decision marks the first time the tournament will be held in two countries, bringing together Europe and Asia on one football stage.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that the upcoming tournament will be a significant event not only for the region but also for world football:
“I am pleased to announce that the FIFA Council has selected Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as the hosts of the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027. This tournament will unite Europe and Asia and provide a stage for the brightest young talents in our sport.”

Additionally, the FIFA Council designated London, England, as the host city for the final phase of the new club competition — the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup 2026. The final phase will feature four matches, scheduled to take place between 28 January and 1 February 2026.
It is worth noting that Armenia and Georgia have submitted a joint bid to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2029.
