Azat Hovhannisyan to Make His Debut at Zuffa Boxing 5 in Las Vegas

Armenian boxer Azat Hovhannisyan (22-6, 17 KOs) will make his debut in the Zuffa Boxing league. His fight will take place on April 5 in Las Vegas at the Zuffa Boxing 5 event.
The 37-year-old Armenian will face 30-year-old Mexican Eduardo Baez (25-7-2, 10 KOs). Their featherweight bout is scheduled for 10 rounds and will be part of the event’s main card.
The fights will take place at the UFC Apex arena, which has already hosted the first four events of the new boxing league founded by Dana White.
Main Fights of the Event
The main event will feature a super featherweight clash between undefeated American Andres Cortes (24-0, 13 KOs) and Eridson Garcia (23-1, 14 KOs) of the Dominican Republic.
In the co-main event, former WBC featherweight world champion Mark Magsayo (28-2, 18 KOs) will face Irish fighter Feargal McCrory (17-1, 9 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout.
A New Opportunity for the Armenian Veteran
Earlier, Azat Hovhannisyan signed with Zuffa Boxing, becoming the first Armenian boxer in Dana White’s league.
In his most recent fight, Hovhannisyan scored an impressive victory over Kazakh prospect Aidos Medet (13-1), once again attracting the attention of promoters.
